Rankings Movement
I will be updating rankings next week just before the TUF finale. There has already been some movement as I have fixed mistakes that I have found. As a result Tito is down a couple of spots. Shogun is up a few spots. I think some others moved, and the TUF competitors have been added. Stay tuned!

No Hughes vs. Serra
So I take it everyone has heard the news that there will be no Hughes vs. Serra at UFC 79, and that they will now have a Hughes/GSP III for an interim title. This fight excites me way more than Hughes/Serra, however this whole interim title thing is starting to get rediculous. I say they just make an interim title in the heavy weights seeing as that would be easy with the ongoing Cotoure situation. Then somebody clubs Rampage and Anderson so that they have to go on a one year hiatus and create an interim title in those two divisions. Then we can settle all this interim business in one event with the title fight in every division that rocks our faces off. Or maybe we will have to settle with a WW and LW title event, which would be fine by me. Maybe the two winners can then go on to fight each other in a match for two belts. I dunno.... but GSP/Hughes is gonna be great.

POST 78 Next Match Ups
These are just some of the fights I'd like to see happen after the new movement. Basically who I would like to see everyone who fought on the previous card fight next.
Light Heavies
Rashad Evans vs. Keith Jardine (Great Match Up, Possibly a #1 contender match)
Thiago Silva vs. Forrest Griffin (Would be a completely exciting fight to watch)
Michael Bisping vs. Houston Alexander (Another exciting fight and interesting to see how these two bounce back)
Middle Weights
Ed Herman vs. Mike Swick
Joe Doerksen vs. Kalib Starnes
Welter Weights
Fitch vs. Parisyan
Thiago Alves vs. Marcus Davis (Two fast rising Welters battling for a possible title shot)
Gono vs. Koscheck
Ryo Chonan vs. Diego Sanchez
Chris Lytle vs. Tamdan McCrory
Light Weights
Frankie Edgar vs. Joe Lauzon (Another battle between up and comers)
Spencer Fischer vs. Din Thomas
Jason Reinhardt vs. Doug Evans
Marcus Aurelio vs. Kurt Pellegrino
Luke Caudillo vs. Retirement
Ok so I've come up with a great idea for the UFC...... Contract Matches. They should take two guys who honestly have no business fighting in the UFC, say Caudillo vs. Saraiva, and put them in a contract match. The winner gets to continue fighting and the loser is done in the UFC. This could at least make these matches somewhat interesting and people might tune in. It might also make these fights total wars because of the implications.

Post Event Fallout
PREDICTIONS: 7 - 2
Pretty darn decent eh?Doerksen and Edgar were my misses. I'm happy Herman won, but Spencer pissed me off. Good job by Edgar though
Well, to the casual mma fan it seems that UFC 78 was not the most exciting in recent history. I, however, enjoyed this event. We saw the emergence of Frank Edgar. An awesome stoppage by Thiago Silva, who I assure you will one day be LHW Champion. Another strong performance from Ed Herman. And I enjoyed what was a very close battle between Rashad Evans and Michael Bisping. It seems however, that Rashad is the next in a line of fighters who have false promises shoved in their face by the UFC brass. They are now claiming that he is not the next in line to fight Rampage. The one fight I was upset with was Parisyan vs. Chonan. I really like Chonan and was hoping to see an exciting fight. Chonan's gameplan was terrible though. He kept getting in close enough to let Karo grapple with him, which is a bad idea for any WW. I was also very happy to see Gono take the submission of the night against the Barncat. Gono is definitely going to be exciting in the UFC. I believe Thiago Silva put in the best performance toward a title shot for his complete domination over the super over hyped Houston Alexander. Turns out power doesn't always win fights. Awesome
If anyone was less than thrilled with this event, dont fret. The super charged card of UFC 79 could raise the shorts of any MMA fan. So soak in the brief hangover (a month and a half actually) And get ready for one sick f'in event.
P.S. Has anybody else noticed that the UFC loves leaving the best events for the final weekend of the year. Last year Chuck vs Tito. Now Serra vs. Hughes, Chuck vs. Wanderlei, and a sick sick showdown between Sokodjou and Machida. I am already pumped!

UFC 78 Predictions
Ok so we are three days away from UFC 78. Time for some predictions here I guess. These are my picks on the new fantasy game on http://www.ufc.com/ If your not in this game already I suggest you head over and get on it. So Anyway here are the picks.
Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
I am taking Gono by TKO in the third. I think McCrory is very tough and will give Gono problems, however Gono's experience is going to win out in the end. McCrory is not ready to beat somebody like Gono yet.
Marcus Aurelio vs. Luke Caudillo
I am taking Aurelio over Caudillo by first round submission. I think Aurelio is just going to dominate Caudillo.
Jason Reinhardt vs. Joe Lauzon
Lauzon in the first via TKO. To be honest i have not seen Reinhardt fight yet. But I have been very impressed by Lauzon during his fights and he has a win over a former top contender in Jens Pulver. Look for Reinhardt to get his first loss in his UFC debut. Welcome!!
Chris Lytle vs. Tiago Alves
This one is very difficult to call. I can see Lytle bringing it to the ground and eventually taping Alves. But Alves does have a BJJ background and amazing Muay Thai. I am taking Alves via TKO late in the second. This fight should be a good one to watch though!
Frank Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher
Talk about an exciting fight. I am definitely looking forward to seeing this bout. I think this is just going to be a total war. I am taking Fisher via Unanimous Decision. The kid is just tough and I believe he has fought the better competition.
Ryo Chonan vs. Karo Parisyan
So I looked this fight up on BetUS.com and as it is right now Chonan's line is +250..... So I am putting everything on Chonan. Not that I think he is going to dominate, but I think that this is such a close fight to call that a line like that should be taking advantage of. In actuality I think Karo is going to pull out a Split Decision, but I love Chonan and he is going to make this a great fight. Chonan vs. Silva II anyone?
Joe Doerksen vs. Ed Herman
Gimme Doerkson via Unanimous Decision. I love Herman and I am really pulling for the Kid. Doerksen has been in the cage with much better opponents however. Granted he lost most of them but he has not been submitted since 2001 and thats the only way I see Herman winning this fight.
Thiago Silva vs. Houston Alexander
Another WAR on the card however, unlike Fisher vs. Edgar, this one is definitely not going the distance. Silva is an undefeated, Chute Box trained fighter. Givin how dominant other fighters from Chute Box (Rua, Wanderlei Silva) I think Silva is going to come into this bout with a decent game plan. I am taking Silva via Round 2 TKO, however I am thinking I might be regreting this one at the end of the night.
Finally the big boys.... or maybe the soon to be big boys.... more like adolescents really.
Bisping vs. Evans
They might not be the biggest names for a headline fight but I am really looking forward to this. I think this is a great match up. Both have great stand up. Rashad is also a great wrestler but Bisping showed some decent take down defense against Hammil. I am going to take Rashad via Unanimous Decision. I think he has fought the better opponents (Tito, Lambert, etc.) and will use those lessons in this fight. Bisping is tough though, and I cant see Rashad getting the KO.
So there you have it. If you have anything to say, whether its "Great Picks!" or "Wow you are a fucking retard" I would more than love to hear them.
Oh and BTW... A big happy birthday goes out to.... me! UFC Birthday party baby!!! Beers, Drugs, Fighting, Midget Hookers..... what could possibly be better?
Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
I am taking Gono by TKO in the third. I think McCrory is very tough and will give Gono problems, however Gono's experience is going to win out in the end. McCrory is not ready to beat somebody like Gono yet.

Off and Running
Well..... Here it is ladies and gents. It is a quater past five in the mourning and I am drunk..... What have I decided to do? Create a blog of course. Like most non sunlight people normally do. So this is it. Everyone has alot to look forward to coming to this page..... well a little to look forward to. This page is solely about rankings. Its based on a scientific formula (which your drunken leader has created) which will lead us to the promised land. I intend to show (thesis statement in the creation here people) who is the most deserving candidates for title shots. Not who will get one.... Not who everybody wants to get one.... but who is the most deserving fighters worthy of a title shot. Yes sir, some names may shock you. But if you cant take the heat, look both ways before you cross the road..... or something like that.
